In conjunction with National Forestry Week [the 1st full week in May] Ainsworth, Canfor, Weyerhaeuser, Sustainable Resource Development, and the Northern Alberta Forestry Show annually present the "Walk Through the Forest". Program. This is a hands-on, multi-station [12] information session about life in the Boreal Forest.

This event is hosted at the Wapiti Nordic Ski Trails (south of Grande Prairie off highway 40). A map to the site is available on the link.

To avoid repetition for the students, we recommend booking only one grade level per school each year. . Registration begins at the Mighty Peace Teacher Convention.

Please note:  Students must come dressed appropriately for the weather ; ie: NO shorts,t-shirts or flip-flops when it's snowing!

For classes that wish to take advantage of a picnic please remember to bring your bagged lunch. or if you wish to take a "self guided " hike please let me know in advance.
